Celebrating 150 Years and More at Homecoming
Oct. 28, 2025
On Friday October 17th, 2025, the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department celebrated Homecoming! With JDawgs, a potato bar, balloons, and nitrogen ice cream, dinner was a great success. Faculty, staff, alumni, students, and friends all gathered to honor the department and celebrate 150 years of BYU. Other activities included a self-guided walking tour of our department’s labs and facilities, making slime, and chemistry magic shows.

WiChem students make nitrogen ice cream for guests at Homecoming dinner.

Guests serve themselves JDawgs and baked potatoes in the Fishbowl.

Colton Dixon, a member of YChem, performs a chemical magic show for Homecoming celebrations.

Guests pass by signs and themed goodies, including a themed 150 sticker, as they travel on the self-guided tour through our different labs and facilities.
A special thank you to our department staff, especially our secretaries, as they organized and held this celebration. We would also like to thank WiChem, YChem, our faculty, staff, and all students who participated and celebrated with us.
