Graduate Student Site Visit 2010 Posted: Mar 25, 2010

During the weekend of March 19-20 the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry hosted their annual site visit. Several students who have been accepted or are prospective students into the graduate programs came to tour campus and learn more about our programs.
The purpose of the site visit is for students to see BYU’s state-of-the-art research facilities first-hand, and get to know the wonderful professors. Friday night there was a dinner held on campus. This gave students a chance to interact with professors in their desired field of study. The dinner was followed by a poster session, where current graduate students and professors had the opportunity to present their research.

On Saturday, students attended the Spring Research Conference, allowing them more time to interact with current students and faculty. They then met personally with a few faculty members, went to lunch with some current graduate students, and enjoyed an afternoon activity of bowling or hiking to the "Y." In the evening the group traveled south of campus to Spring Haven for a dinner and social.
