Olivia Fisher Named Barry M. Goldwater Scholar

We want to congratulate Olivia Fisher on being named a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar for the 2022-2023 academic year! The scholarship awards up to $7,500 to students intending to pursue careers in the natural science or engineering and mathematics fields.

Receiving the Goldwater scholarship was not just about the financial benefits or being able to put the title on her resume for Fisher. “For me, being selected was like kicking a life’s worth of built up imposter syndrome in the face! It told me that I was capable and gave me confidence to keep going,” she explained. Receiving this recognition was especially meaningful for Fisher as a woman in STEM. “ Being selected as a Goldwater Scholar was like a confirmation of everything I worked hard to achieve and a reminder to myself to not let anyone set limits for me.”
