Tsz-Yin Chan (PhD '20) ran experiments to discover the proteins that power and accelerate tumor growth in her first year in the Fritz B. Burns Cancer Research Laboratory. She was able to find a match in TNK1. While working with Christina Egbert ('22) and Dr. Joshua Andersen (BS '01), they further investigated this protein which led to the creation of a drug that targets it to stop tumor growth.
